Magpies Must Still Win Last Two Fears Chorley Boss

Chorley’s manager played down the significance of Saturday’s top of the table victory over Stockport County.

Jamie Vermiglio was delighted with the performance and the result but fears Jim Gannon’s side will win their last two matches.

That means they may have to do the same with their National League North title rivals only two points behind.

On Monday Chorley make the demanding trip to Spennymoor while County welcome Curzon Ashton.

“In all honesty all it is is another three points for us,” he said on the club’s video service.

“It’s another game chalked off. It’s no secret that we want to try and get promotion but aren’t reading too much into this result.

“We had to stand up to them. They are where they are for a reason but we aren’t getting carried away.

“We have two big games to come yet. I think they are going to pick up six points so we need to match what Stockport do to have a chance of winning it.”

Vermiglio added: “I thought we we back to our best, we were very well organised.

“We lot that organisation and with it some of our identity in the past few weeks but we found it again.

“Now we need to go and get two more wins if we can.”
