Keates Predicts Plenty More Twists In Title Race

Wrexham boss Dean Keates has told the club’s supporters to expect plenty of twists and turns in the remainder of the National League season.

The Dragons climbed back to the top of the table thanks to their 2-0 win at struggling Guiseley last Saturday.

They play another side at the wrong end of the table, FC Halifax Town, at the Racecourse this weekend and will be expected to pick up another three points.

But Keates knows that the Shaymen are fighting for their lives under caretaker manager Neil Young.

“The league can change straight away, we can end up being fourth again if teams win their games in hand,” Keates told The Leader.

“There are going to be twists and turns, and do I see us being top until the end of the season? No, if I am being completely honest.

“It has chopped and changed all season, only Macclesfield for nine weeks I think have consistently stayed there.

“Anybody can beat anybody and we have got some tough games coming up. But all eyes are on Halifax, that is the most important one as it is the next game.”
