Hawks Down But No Out Says Boss Bradbury

Lee Bradbury had nothing but praise for Havant & Waterlooville’s players as they returned to the National League South.

The Hawks’ stay in the division lasted just one season after their relegation was confirmed on Saturday.

But Bradbury says it wasn’t for a lack of effort.

Their fate was sealed with a 3-2 defeat at Solihull Moors and it was the story of their season - just edged out when they were in the game for long periods.

He told the club’s website: “We’ve been in almost all games this season except for the Leyton Orient and Bromley away games.

“The other games we’ve lost, we’ve lost by the odd goal like we did here.

“The players have worked hard for each other. I haven’t questioned their work rate many times at all this year.

“It’s hard. The lads have tried their best and we’ve fallen just a bit short. I fully respect the players and their attitudes have been great this year.”

On the loss at Solihull which confirmed the drop, he said: "I thought we were naive at times, and their experience showed.”
