Elliott Hangs Up His Boots After Great Career

Popular midfielder Elliott Godfrey has brought the curtain down on his career.

The 35-year-old Wealdstone player has retired, he has announced on social media.

The former AFC Wimbledon man, a Conference South champion and with the Dons, has also played for Hampton, Staines and and St Albans City.

With a keen eye for goal from the middle of the park, Godfrey was a regular fan’s’ favourite throughout his career.

“The day has finally come for me to hang up my boots,” he said.

“I have had an amazing ride along the way. I have been lucky enough to play for some fantastic clubs in front of passionate fans for some fantastic managers.

“Football to me is so much more than just a game. It has taught me loads and made me friends for life.

“Thank for to everyone who has supported me along the way.”
