Elliott Calls For His Pilgrims To Become More 'Streetwise'

Craig Elliott knows his Boston United side still have plenty to learn after they relinquished a three-goal lead against FC United of Manchester.

The Pilgrims looked well on their way to three points at half-time on Saturday, leading the Red Rebels 3-0.

They also led 4-2 with three minutes left but two late strikes from FC United claimed a valuable point for the visitors.

Due to the recent bad weather and inconsistent performances, Boston haven’t won in the National League North since the end of January - leaving them six points above the bottom three.

“I’m still really numb from how the game unfolded,” Elliott told the club’s Youtube channel.

“I thought we were excellent for large parts but we just couldn’t defend our 18-yard box. I think they got into our box four or five times and pretty much scored every time.

“Individuals and defenders need to take responsibility. We’ve scored four goals and that should be enough to win a game of football.

“You’ve got to be careful about predicting in this League. Every game will be hard but there’s no doubt about it, we need to be more streetwise and see games out.”
