Edinburgh Has No Case For His Leyton Orient Defence

Leyton Orient manager Justin Edinburgh won’t allow the chance of Wembley slip through their fingers.

That’s what it felt like for the fans after Orient threw away a three-goal lead to draw with Gateshead in the quarter final on Saturday.

It’s a replay when it looked sure a semi-final was assured - and Edinburgh has demanded a reaction.

“I can’t tell you how disappointed I am,” he said. “But we have to accept it.

“We spoke about it in the dressing room and we have to accept responsibility. The players do and I do. But we have to show a reaction to what was a disappointing end to a very bright start to the game.

“I think we became a little bit complacent. Perhaps we thought we were through and I think once they got that first goal, no matter how good you are or think you are, you can’t always turn that tide around.

“I think the tide had gone out on us and they picked it up and took it on and credit to them. They had no fear and they were out of the competition at one stage and that became difficult.

“We’ve seen the last two out at 1-0 and we should be seeing it out at 3-0.”
