Dartford's Awesome Alfie Is The South's Shining Light

By Sam Elliott

When Millwall sat Alfie Pavey down last summer and explained that they wouldn’t be renewing his contract, it was soul destroying.

Having been at the club since 2013, the body blow that it was could have been the beginning of the end of a career which promised so much.

Instead, after signing for Dartford under the wise master Tony Burman via Welling, it may well prove to be just the start of it.

The 22-year-old striker was outstanding as the Kent club went toe-to-toe with Havant & Waterlooville for the title.

He fired in 22 goals during the league season, and will now be a threat to any opposite marker in the Darts’ play-off campaign.

Attentions now turn to the play-offs for Pavey and co, where one match stands between them and a place in the Promotion Final.

Where next?

Gray Urges For Patience Ahead Of Hectic Summer Martin Gray has vowed to put things right at York City and intends to build his own squad capable of winning promotion.
Havant Secure Title Late On To Break Dartford Hearts The biggest prize – the title itself - was still up for grabs on the final day of the regular Vanarama National League South season on Saturday.
