He said: “I am proud and I am really pleased. The team are making great strides and we played very well.

“We are starting to show now what we can do and play the type of football I know we are capable of.

“Considering the amount of matches we have played lately, to win three is brilliant and we are now looking up.

“We think the club has progressed this year on and off the pitch and now we’re wanting the games to come.”

On the Sutton test, Smith is looking forward to welcoming the cameras.

“It’ll be another big game for us and having played them twice in December we will certainly know a lot about each other!” the manager added.

Sutton won the National League game on Boxing Day but it was Bromley who came out on top in the FA Trophy tie eleven days earlier.
