Ainsley: Retained List Had Tough Decisions At Spennymoor

Spennymoor Town boss Jason Ainsley says the decisions made for their retained list included a number of difficult decisions.

In total six players have left the club through a decision made by the management team, writes Tom Feaheny.

“It was a very difficult decision for Tommy Miller and myself to not take up the option to retain some of the squad," Ainsley told the club's website.

“We felt it was the right decision to let Chris Chantler, Jordan Porter and Matthew Dixon move on.

"They have been fantastic professionals and have never missed a training session despite the considerable travel."

Now with the season finished, it will have been no surprise for anyone to see the club took up the option to extend the contract of leading goal scorer Glen Taylor who has certainly made a big impact this season.
