FC Halifax Town have confirmed ex Notts County boss Jamie Fullarton is their new manager.

The Shaymen have been without a permanent boss since Billy Heath left, writes Tom Feaheny.

Neil Young has been in caretaker charge and will lead the side tonight against Hartlepool United.

Town currently find themselves out of the bottom four, but lost at the weekend to Ebbsfleet United.

A club statement read.

"FC Halifax Town can confirm the appointment of Jamie Fullarton as First Team Manager.

As a player Jamie enjoyed a successful career with clubs such as Crystal Palace, St Mirren, Brentford and Bastia to name a few.

After hanging up his boots he held Head of Coaching roles with Nottingham Forest, Bolton Wanderers, Blackburn rovers as well as 1st team coach at Crystal Palace.

After taking charge in extremely difficult circumstances at Notts County, Jamie and the club parted company whilst the club was put up for sale.

Jamie brings with him an extensive knowledge of the game, a vast recruitment network and is a pro-license coach."

Fullarton is expected at The Shay tonight with his first game in charge at the weekend.
