Young: Character Against League Leaders Key To Draw

FC Halifax Town caretaker manager Neil Young says getting a point at Wrexham who started the day top showed what the team has.

The Shaymen fell behind due to a Scott Boden goal but went into the break level thanks to Scott Garner’s header, writes Tom Feaheny.

This point means Town are now five points clear from the drop zone.

“I don’t think at any stage, they lacked any character. From our perspective, we set them up in a certain way, to try and negate Wrexham’s threats, and there’s a lot of them,” Young told ShaymenTV.

“You’ve got a group of lads who want to do well and want to learn, it’s sometimes just that bit of confidence. They won at Aldershot, they beat Chester, so it’s in there, it’s just about making sure that they’ve got a structure to build from.

“We’ve got to work on the shape of the team and the structure of what we’re going to build on. To be fair to the lads, we’ve done a lot in a short space of time.”
