Woking Manager Dowson Makes Big Promotion Pledge!

Woking fans worried by their recent wobble shouldn’t be. Manager Alan Dowson says they are still going up.

The defiant Cards boss have moved to lift morale by saying he believes they will win the National League South play-offs.

Torquay United were crowned champions on Saturday after they beat Eastbourne - and Woking came unstuck at Chelmsford.

Dowson’s side now haven’t won in six and called on his players to cut the mistakes quickly as they look to grab second place over Easter.

“I don’t think there’s that much wrong, I really don’t,” he told the club’s video player.

“It’s about staying together now. The quicker we get rid of these mistakes the better. I’m just happy we are doing it now and not in the play-offs.

“There’s no good sulking, it’s no good throwing your toys out of the pram,” he added.

“We have now got to re-focus. We’ve got a big game on Friday now, and it could be the day we cement second place.

“I still fancy us, I really do. From the outside looking in it appears all doom and gloom but it’s not like that at all.

“Torquay are deserved champions, but we’ll be OK - I still think we’ll get promoted.

“We’ve just got to not get downbeat. We’ll work with the players and we’ll keep going - what choice have we got?”
