What's In Store In The National League North On Saturday?

By Tom Scott

The FA Trophy has presented the play-off chasers with a chance to gobble up some ground on the top seven – but can they take advantage?

AFC Telford, Stockport County and Bradford (Park Avenue) are all out of action this weekend.

And while a number of sides are still in the race, they know today could be a turning point.

Kidderminster Harriers are the best placed side but still sit four points adrift of the top seven. And a win over title chasers Spennymoor could well perk them up.

Brackley are breathing down the necks of Jason Ainsley’s men but face a stern test, and a trip to Altrincham.

Leaders Chorley can stifle Boston United’s charge with a win in Lincolnshire – something that would also see them with clear breathing space at the top.

Anthony Johnson branded Chester weak after dropping points last time out. Can a trip to Darlington ease their woes?

Is it too little too late for York City? Steve Watson’s men have been in fine form and have some work to do if they’re going to gate-crash the play-offs.

FC United of Manchester toppled Telford last time out and would love to rain on the Minstermen’s parade to boost their own problems.

A York win could open the door for Guiseley to pull away from trouble. But they’ll have to be on their game to beat Curzon Ashton.

Alfreton are going for five in a row against Hereford while Blyth Spartans are looking for their first win in five against Nuneaton Borough.

Elsewhere, Leamington host Southport with the home side knowing a win could ease their fears of the drop.
