Top Scorers: The Vanarama National League South

By Sam Elliott

There’s been some big movement in the Vanarama National League South Golden Boot chase in the last few days.

Sam Higgins really is doing his best to dispel the myth of second season syndrome for East Thurrock United and for himself.

His double against Welling United at the Weekend sent him joint top - but on Tuesday another contender put his hand up.

Suffering no ill effects of Oxford City’s late FA Cup heartache at Notts County, Matt Paterson’s deadly hat-trick downed Truro City in midweek.

Sadly it won’t seem that Dayle Grubb will be around to win it.

Our congratulations go to the Weston-super-Mare striker whose goals have clearly not gone unnoticed.

He has agreed a deal to sign for League Two side Forest Green Rovers once the January transfer window opens.

We’re sure the goals will continue to flow in the EFL for one of Non-League’s most feared marksmen!
