Third Time Lucky: Surely Sole Can't Be Don For Tonight!

Giuseppe Sole can finally enjoy his Woking testimonial - and surely nothing can go wrong this time!

The Cards legend left the National League South club over two-and-a-half years ago.

Woking have twice tried to arrange a benefit game after ten years’ service but disaster struck on both occasions.

The original game against AFC Bournemouth was scheduled for December 2016, only for it to be postponed because the Premier League club double booked their Christmas party.

They then tried again in January last year but that game was then frozen off.

On Tuesday night he hopes it is third time lucky - AFC Wimbledon visit and a big crowd is expected.

New Woking manager Alan Dowson, who signed the striker for Hampton in 2016, said: “Surely nothing can go wrong this time!

“He has been a great servant for the club and deserves his day. We will all be watching the sky for snow and rain though just in case!”

Sole said it will be “a great honour” to walk out at the Laithwaite’s again.

Woking begin their National League South campaign against East Thurrock on August 4.
