The Team Of Tuesday: The Stand-Out Stars From Last Night

By Sam Elliott

Ten games last night across the three leagues, and of course plenty of talking points. Here’s another one.

We have pieced together a Team of Tuesday night to celebrate all the headline makers from the midweek programme.

Fusing all three leagues together, we’ve recognised the outstanding performers on a big night of action up and down the country.

If you aren’t familiar with our progress, we bend the ears of reporters, managers and club officials around the grounds to piece together a side who all deserve to be recognised.

The squad of 16 is announced thanks to the feedback we receive from our contacts across the divisions.

So here’s who has made the cut for their efforts last night. Got a point to make? Join the debate on twitter @TheNationalLge

National Leagues Team of the Tuesday night:

Goalkeeper: Ryan Young (Havant & W)
One twitter account described his second-half save to keep the Hawks level against Wealdstone as ‘superhuman’ - they perhaps under sold it.

Defender: Raheem Hanley (FC Halifax)
Settled superbly, just like his new manager. Jamie Fullarton has already pretty much won his battle to keep the club up after just a few weeks.

Defender: James Haran (Eastbourne Borough)
Outstanding as the Sports prevented Bath City from closing the gap on the National League South play-off places.

Defender: Josh Gowling (Torquay United)
Back in, and made all the difference. It takes a lot to keep Leyton Orient’s forwardline quiet but it threw the Gulls a relegation lifeline.

Defender: Lee Vaughan (Kidderminster)
Back to his best for the Harriers as they beat York City to get their challenge back up and running. Always so good going forward.

Midfielder: Brian Stock (Havant & W)

It wasn’t classic Havant last night, but without Stock’s influence in midfield they would have probably lost. Deserves to be playing National League football next season.

Midfielder: Kane Willis (Eastbourne Borough)
It may have been an up-and-down season for Eastbourne but the win at Bath showed the potential they have. Willis was their big player.

Midfielder: Shane Byrne (Brackley)
Another assist and another great win for Brackley. They beat Gainsborough to keep up the pressure in the National League North - now for the FA Trophy semi-finals.

Midfielder: Dion Charles (Southport)

If only the season started a few months ago. Charles inspired Southport to yet another home win as they crushed AFC Telford.

Dan Bradley (Kidderminster)
Two goals, and by far the best player on the park as York City were put to the sword by an impressive Kidderminster.

Aaron Williams (Brackley)

Another goal for a player who now has Wembley in his sights. Just so difficult to play against as defences find out every week.

Substitutes:

Fraser Kerr (Gateshead)

Connor Taylor (Tamworth)

Mike Fondop-Talom (FC Halifax)

Moses Emmanuel (Maidenhead)

Elliott Romaine (Torquay)
