Team of Tuesday Night: Who Are The Players To Make It In?

By Sam Elliott

We weren’t going to miss an opportunity to produce a Team of Tuesday Night - even with a limited programme.

Our Under the Lights XI are supplemented with five substitutes as the eight matches across the divisions produced plenty of drama.

We have blended all three leagues together to come up with a squad of midweek marvels.

The team of the night was arguably Kidderminster Harriers thanks to their 4-0 thrashing of FC United, but a mention too must go to Harrogate Town after putting four goals past Stockport County.

Those two clubs feature heavily - as do Hemel Hempstead, Leamington, Alfreton and AFC Fylde after the all secured crucial wins.

As ever, we bend the ears of reporters, managers and club officials to pick out select side. What do you make of the line up?

The Team of Tuesday Night:

Goalkeeper: Chris Elliott (Alfreton Town)
One stunning save in particular caught the eye but this was a vital clean sheet for the Reds and an even more important win at Blyth Spartans.

Defender: Lee Vaughan (Kidderminster Harriers)
On his day he’s unplayable. Vaughan looks back to his best and was so impressive as Harriers rolled over FC United of Manchester.

Defender: Ismail Yakubu (Hemel Hempstead)
Recovered from being hit by a firework in the first half to keep Chelmsford at bay. A player who knows how to win promotion.

Defender: Zaine Francis-Angol (AFC Fylde)
AFC Fylde are in form, and so is he. Didn’t fancy allowing the Stones to turn the form-book upside down.

Defender: Josh Staunton (Woking)
Only a fantastic goal undone the Cards, who looked much improved. Staunton held things together on Tyneside.

Midfielder: Jack Emmett (Harrogate Town)
A goal and an all-action performance. Stockport County just couldn’t keep up with the energetic youth product.

Midfielder: Declan Weeks (Kidderminster)
One of three Harriers to make it in and Weeks is worth of his place. Covered every blade of Aggborough’s grass.

Midfielder: Lewis Montrose (AFC Fylde)
Becoming a regular in our select sides, and is establishing himself in among the best players in the National League.

Midfielder: Jordan Parkes (Hemel Hempstead)
Two goals, and a second direct from a corner inside a few weeks. The Tudors captain is the driving force for Dean Brennan.

Midfielder: Elton Ngwatala (Kidderminster)
FC United just couldn’t contain him. Ngwatala seems to have it all and again showed why he is one of the National League North’s hot prospects.

Striker: Daniel Udoh (Leamington)
Leamington badly needed their victory over Gainsborough and Udoh had arguably his best game of the season leading the line.

Substitutes:
Tony Breedon (Leamington)
Ben Fox (Gateshead)
James Jones (Chester)
Jake Cassidy (Hartlepool)
Brendon Daniels (Alfreton)
