Seagulls Back On Track But McGregor Wants More Goals

Marc McGregor wants to see his Weston-super-Mare side become more clinical as they look to make a run at the play-offs.

The Seagulls recovered from the 5-1 thrashing at Whitehawk to beat Concord Rangers 1-0 on Saturday.

The result moved Weston to within four points of the top seven and they still have games in hand over most of their rivals.

McGregor was pleased with the reaction from his players but recognised the scoreline could, and should, have been more comfortable.

“I thought we made things quite easy with the amount of possession we had but we just didn’t finish them off,” McGregor told the club’s media channel.

“We could have been two or three-nil up in the first half and it made things a bit nervy in the second half. We should have killed them off.

“We’ll be working on our runs and delivery of the ball in training. It’s an art and if we can drill that into the players, we’ll score more goals.

“We’ve got to look after Saturdays because we’ve got a couple of games in hand. If we can stay in touch on a Saturday, it makes things easier for those midweek games.”
