Saturday Preview: Vanarama National League

By David Richardson

After a week's break for the FA Cup, the National League is back with a full line-up of fixtures.

Woking will hope to bounce back from three consecutive National League defeats, that has seen them slip to 8th, at FC Halifax Town, who haven't won in six matches.

The BT Sport cameras will be at Stonebridge Road for Ebbsfleet United vs Leyton Orient. Top scorer Macauley Bonne won't be with the visitors as he his on international duty with Zimbabwe. Kick-off is at 5.30pm.

Joint table toppers Dover Athletic aim to regain the outright leadership of the division when they host south coast rivals Eastleigh.

It looks set to be a difficult weekend for the clubs at the wrong end of the table on paper, as rock bottom Solihull Moors host Paul Doswell's impressive fourth-placed Sutton United.

Second from last Torquay United are at home to Maidstone United, in fifth, who progressed past League Two's Cheltenham Town in the FA Cup last weekend.

Chester are one point from safety and aren't playing after losing the cross-border derby against Wrexham on Wednesday night.

Ady Pennock's Barrow will hope they can move out of the relegation zone with a win but they'll have to do it against third-placed Macclesfield Town at Holker Street.

Resurgent Guiseley, under Paul Cox, moved out of the bottom four with a win at Woking two weeks ago and will be looking to repeat the trick against another high-flying side in Bromley.

One of the games of the weekend comes at Prenton Park as two of the pre-season favourites, Tranmere Rovers and Dagenham & Redbridge clash. The hosts would move one point behind the visitors if they win.

We'll be at the EBB Stadium on Saturday for one of our featured games between Aldershot Town and AFC Fylde.

Elsewhere, last week's FA Cup heroes Boreham Wood will be visited by Craig Harrison's ever-improving Hartlepool United while Gateshead travel south to Maidenhead United.
