Rose Ready To Make Sure Hamlet Hit The Heights

Gavin Rose knows there’s a lot more to come from his Dulwich Hamlet side.

The south east Londoners have won three from three after an incredible start to the Vanarama National League South season.

They are joint top alongside Concord Rangers and Dorking Wanderers as the trio unexpectedly make an explosive start.

On Saturday, impressive Hamlet beat St Albans City 2-1.

But it was the manner of the win which impressed Rose the most.

He told us: “It’s certainly been a good start to the season.

“We’ve been down to ten men in two matches for more than 50 minutes in both games, and they have sacrificed themselves for the team to get a positive result.

“Wealdstone can count themselves unfortunate not to at least take a point from our game, but we grinded out the result.”

Rose has been impressed by his team - but knows more is required if they want to keep at the right end of the National League South.

“With a few injuries and suspensions to come back the squad will get much needed rest and competition in the coming weeks,” he said.

“But we still need to improve in our general performance to enable us make a successful challenge for a play-off spot or more.”
