Points On The Board Are Key For Havant, Says Boss Bradbury

Lee Bradbury is hoping his Havant & Waterlooville side aren’t left playing catch-up in the National League South title race.

The Hawks are currently second in the table and two points behind leaders Dartford. Crucially, however, they have two games in hand.

Most of their promotion rivals have played more fixtures than Bradbury’s side and the boss wants his team to return to action as soon as possible.

They have 12 games to fit into the next two months, starting with Saturday’s trip to Oxford City.

“We don’t want to fall too far behind, we need points on the board because games in hand and are no good to us,” Bradbury told BBC Solent.

“We don’t want to be left with three or four games in hand because we had that a couple of years ago and it cost us a place in the play-offs I feel.

“You can end up playing three or four games a week like we have done previously and with a reasonably small squad, it’s just too much to ask of the players.”
