New Barrow Boss Pennock Is Happy To Be Patient

Ady Pennock was named the Bluebirds’ third manager of a difficult season on Friday.

He admits his appointment was a “whirlwind” but didn’t get carried away by the storm as Barrow won 3-1 against Aldershot in his first game at the helm.

Pennock’s next job is to get his backroom team together at Holker Street.

It was announced earlier this evening that caretaker manager Neill Hornby would not be part of the new regime.

Pennock has candidates in mind and is also looking for new players but accepts he is going to have to be patient.

He said: “It’s all happened very quickly so the next stage is making sure we can carry on where we left off on Saturday.

“Every good manger has a good team around him so there is conversations going on and even though we may need to wait a little while hopefully something can happen.

“There are a number of factors to consider, it’s not as easy as saying ‘I want him’ or ‘I want him’ and he turns up at our door

“You have always got to be looking for players to add to what you have but the current group here showed they can handle things on Saturday.

“We’ll be working hard over the coming weeks, just as we did at the weekend. Everybody knows why I have come to the club - first things first we need to improve our league position and then go from there.”
