Limbrick: I Respect Fans' Frustration Over Horror Run

By Sam Elliott

Woking manager Anthony Limbrick accepts standards aren’t being met after the Cards were thrashed at struggling Solihull Moors on Saturday.

The 3-0 defeat in the Midlands means the club are on their worst run of form since 2006.

They face Gateshead tonight knowing they need to get back to winning way.

Woking have claimed just seven points now from the last 42 available to them - and confidence is low wirth the club having sold two key players in the transfer window.

Limbrick says he understands the fans’ frustration and vowed to do everything possible to turn their season around.

He told BBC Surrey: “That was really disappointing today. When we don’t take our chances at one end and defend poorly at the other it results in a very frustrating afternoon.

“We are as disappointed as the supporters are. They have every right to express their frustration. It’s the first time that it’s happened, but when we come to a side in the bottom four and lose 3-0 it can only be expected.

“We need to be better than that, we are better than that and we now need to put it right.”

Limbrick, whose team last won in November against Ebbsfleet, added: “It’s individual errors which seem to be costing us every week at the moment. We’re being put on the back foot, and every individual error we make at the moment results in us being punished.

“The defending hasn’t been good enough. There are players out there trying, but we need to be delivering.

“We had three or four really good chances, but at 2-0 you are chasing our game. We need to be better. We’re conceding silly and sloppy goals and that’s got to stop very quickly.”
