Kinnear Responds To Leyton Orient Link

The job the Crabble boss has done hasn’t gone unnoticed and speculation has surfaced that the Whites boss is a candidate for the Brisbane Road boss.

As fate would have it, leaders Dover went to Orient on Saturday and played out an exciting 1-1 draw in East London.

In an interview with Kent Online this morning, Kinnear addressed the rumours head on.

Orient are without a manager after Steve Davis left the club last weekend. They are now 12 games without a win and the Dover's boss has seen his name linked with the vacancy.

He said: "It's up to them, isn't it? All I can do is try to get the points for Dover, whether I'm linked or not.

"At the moment, no-one's offered me anything anywhere. The Everton job's free as well.

"At the moment, I'm at Dover and I'll do the best I can, as I've always done."

On the game, Kinnear said: "We could have been well away at the beginning. We could have had two or three but they played with a lot of spirit, which sides that change managers do.

"They've obviously got lots of very good players. It was a great atmosphere, the supporters got really behind them, bearing in mind what's been going on.

"We're disappointed in the way we played but that point, because we dug in and everybody worked as hard they could, even though it wasn't our day, has kept us top of the table.”
