It's A Family Affair At Play-Off Chasing Wealdstone

Bobby Wilkinson says the “family” feeling around Wealdstone is starting to pay dividends.

The Stones recorded a much-needed 2-1 win against Weston-super-Mare on Saturday to keep their play-off hopes very much alive in the National League South.

Wilkinson’s men are five points adrift of the top seven and they have two big League games coming up against Truro City and Dartford.

The boss pointed out the unity in his squad after another positive result - a far cry from the last meeting against Weston which the Stones lost 5-1.

“Credit to all the boys and management team because it’s been a difficult week on and off the park,” Wilkinson told WFCTV.

“Everybody has come together. We’re building a family here and if you stick together, you win games.

“A lot of people kept asking how many players we had signed on. I would have signed 50 players until I got it right.

“It’s about keeping the faith in the boys and it’s a very sweet day for me. Credit must go to the players because I’m the manager but they’re in charge.”
