Home Draw Is Something To Build On: Boss Billy

A timid goalless draw at home when you really need a win to liven up your season usually won’t get a manager off of his feet.

But for FC Halifax boss Billy Heath, his side’s stalemate with Woking had more positives than negatives.

The game failed to excite but a clean sheet represented progress for the Shaymen after a number of poor results left them subjected to accusations of being far too open.

It was their first in six games and Heath says that is a monkey off their back.

“You’ve got to take the positives and we will,” said the manager, who last saw his side win on September 23 at home to Bromley.

“We needed that clean sheet. We haven’t had once since we drew at home to Wrexham at the start of October so that’s a big plus for us.

“We’re on a difficult run but at least we have something to build on having lost our last two. The next step is getting that victory.”

Heath added: “We have been far too open in the last month or so and we have addressed that. It’s a decent point for us.”

Next up for FC Halifax is a trip to title chasing Sutton United next weekend.
