Here's What Happened In The National League On Saturday

By Tom Scott

Unbeaten runs have been halted and long waits for wins were scrapped as the National League churned out some intriguing results on Saturday afternoon.

Chorley picked up their first win of the season against old foes Stockport County.

Chris Holroyd hit a first-half brace before a late goal from Elliot Newby lifted the Magpies off the foot of the table.

Harrogate Town were in front twice through Jon Stead at Plainmoor before the frontman was dismissed.

That gave Torquay United the impetus to push forward and that's just what they did. Kalvin Lumbombo Kalala struck the leveller before Jamie Reid's late double secured a fourth win of the season for the Gulls.

Boreham Wood waited nine months for a home win and ended their barren spell in style against Dover.

Kabongo Tshimanga had they 2-1 up at the break before Tyrone Marsh put the result beyond doubt just after the hour mark.

Bromley had Michael Cheek to thank for their win over Chesterfield.

The Spireites levelled things up in the 72nd minute through Liam Mandeville but found themselves behind less than a minute later.

Barrow survived a late scare from Aldershot's Ethan Chislett after Josh Kay and John Rooney put them two to the good.

Yeovil halted Halifax's winning streak with a touch of Gold. That's Gold Omotayo, who netted in each half for the Glovers.

That result meant Woking regained top spot - but the Cards are involved in the late BT Sport game against Hartlepool United.

Dagenham & Redbridge stretched their unbeaten run to six games with a hard-fought win at Maidenhead.

Elsewhere, Harry Beautyman's opener was cancelled out for Sutton as Notts County took a point on the road at Gander Green Lane.

Ebbsfleet and Eastleigh also shared the spoils - Tyrone Barnett cancelling out Alex Reid's first-half opener for the Fleet.

Saturday's National League final scores:
Aldershot 1-2 Barrow
Boreham Wood 3-1 Dover
Bromley 2-1 Chesterfield
Chorley 3-0 Stockport County
Ebbsfleet 1-1 Eastleigh
FC Halifax 0-2 Yeovil
