Gill Asks For More Quality From Inconsistent Bath

Jerry Gill was critical of his Bath City side after they were forced to settle for a point at Oxford City.

Ross Stearn had given the visitors the lead but a Matt Paterson penalty 15 minutes from time denied the Romans.

Bath are just four points adrift of the National League South play-off places and Gill was disappointed his side didn’t reach the heights they have in recent weeks.

Still, the Romans have lost just one of their previous 11 League games and make the short journey to Weston-super-Mare on Tuesday.

Gill told Bath City Radio: “I didn’t think we were very good if I’m being totally honest. We worked hard but we didn’t have enough quality on the ball.

“The disappointment is that it’s another soft goal that has cost us the three points today. I didn’t feel we were under too much pressure.

“We didn’t control the game well enough but we’ll go again on Tuesday. We’ll go to Weston and try and do a job down there.

“I’m sure our performance levels will be back to where they have been recently. We’re all disappointed and we’re looking to put things right on Tuesday.”
