Cox Looks Forward To Facing Old Side Barrow

By Tom Feaheny

Paul Cox says his Guiseley side know the importance of taking on Barrow as both teams look for valuable points.

Cox left Barrow a few games into the start of this season and takes on his old club in a crucial match, writes Tom Feaheny.

"I look back at my time with Barrow fondly, I had success there, I feel I took over the club and made significant progress," Cox said.

"We know the importance of this game and it is for us, we were down after the Fylde loss as we have a dressing room that cares.

"We feel there is a bit of luck coming our way, that win could start a run and then we can get other teams in and around us."

Cox believes new signing Dayle Southwell showed encouraging signs as they look to get their first win of 2018.

"Dayle Southwell is the kind of player that will score goals for us, he needs a bit more game time to get up to speed, he can be the difference in tight matches."
