Comeback Kings! Boston Hold Onto Unbeaten Run

Craig Elliott lauded his Boston United side’s character after they fought back from three goals down to extend their unbeaten run.

The Pilgrims were surprisingly 3-0 behind against Curzon Ashton on Saturday and needed an almighty effort to get anything from the game.

But Elliott’s side weren’t ready to say goodbye to their unbeaten run and scored three times in 11 minutes to level the scores.

They still had 14 minutes left to try and grab a winner but Boston ultimately had to settle for a point.

The Pilgrims are now nine unbeaten in the National League North and Elliott told the club’s Youtube channel: “The performance was excellent and although we’re disappointed to drop points, I thought the lads were superb.

“I was walking in at half-time trying to get my head around what had happened but the lads responded brilliantly in the second half.

“When you’re on long, unbeaten runs you’re going to have bumps in the road. It’s all about how you respond to those and the players deserve a lot of credit.

“We want to stay unbeaten. Of course, we’re disappointed to concede three goals and not win the game but to come back from 3-0 down, the lads showed lots of character.”
