Bromley In A Good Place Thanks To Goodman!

The centre-back scored the clincher seconds after coming on in the final minute against Sutton United.

With his very first touch he launched himself at a driven corner and beat Jamie Butler as Bromley won 2-1 in front of the BT Sport cameras.

The manager revealed after that the defender wasn’t best pleased about being left out.

He said: “You get paid to make those types of decisions and some go for you and some don’t. This one did!

“Jake’s a great pro but he wasn’t happy about not being in the side.

“He got his chance very late on but didn’t he take it! I actually didn’t think ‘he’s going to score here’ but he is a threat in both boxes and he got on the end of it.

“I thought we played well but it was looking like it was heading for a draw.

“You don’t bring a defender on hoping to change the game but that’s how it played out and we’re delighted.

“To come from behind to beat a team is great form you have got to be pleased. It’s a good start to the New Year.”
