Big Summer Spruce Up Is Planned At Brisbane Road

Leyton Orient have confirmed they will get to the root of Brisbane Road’s pitch problems during the close season.

The club’s surface by their own admission hasn’t been as it should be - and they have gone into further detail about why.

Orient chief executive Danny Macklin has told fans they are aware of the issue and have a plan in place to make things better for the 2018-19 season.

The O’s drew 1-1 with Tranmere Rovers on Saturday and the pitch wasn’t ideal for Justin Edinburgh’s team.

Macklin said: “After a few seasons with lack of investment into pitch preparation and maintenance, it’s clear that combined with recent heavy rain and frost the pitch is far from ideal.

“The Board of Directors have agreed to undertake extensive pitch work during the close season.

“In the interim, the club have purchased rain covers that will assist in match preparation for the remainder of this season and many more.”

Orient’s next National League fixture is this weekend when they make the trip to AFC Fylde.
