Big Keeper Earns Macclesfield Deal

Macclesfield Town have signed young goalkeeper Sam Ramsbottom.

The 6`5” in keeper spent his early career at Tranmere Rovers and whilst at Prenton Park had a loan spell with Evo-Stik League Premier side Witton Albion.

He was released by Tranmere in the summer of 2016.

He moved on to Irish side Galway United where he stayed until January 2017, and joins the Silkmen having recently completing on a one-month contract with league rivals Barrow AFC – a deal which was affected by the departure of Paul Cox as manager.

Ramsbottom impressed Macclesfield boss John Askey in training and has been signed to put pressure on the club`s senior keeper, Shwan Jalal.
