A Busy Time Is Ahead At Barrow As Changes Are Afoot

Managing director Andrew Casson knows there will be a high number of comings and goings and Holker Street once the New Year arrives.

Four of the club’s loan players are due to return to their parent club next month - and fans have been reassured that they will be replaced.

Barrow have improved dramatically under new manager Ady Pennock and he has been told he will be able to bring new faces in as the club look to pull away from troubled down at the bottom of the National League.

In an interview with the Barrow News & Mail, Casson has outlined what will be needed in January and told fans not to worry.

Casson said: “There is definitely going to be some activity. As everyone knows, come the first weekend in January, as of now the loans will be up on Chris Clements, Jimmy Dunne, Lewis and Calum Macdonald.

“They will be four guys, if you don’t get to keep all of them for whatever reason, that you would be looking to replace them at the very least.

“The management, myself and the chairman are in agreement that this team have enough talent to not be relegated, to finish somewhere in that 16th to eighth window depending on a bit of luck and things like that.

“It’s about making smart recruitment decisions, and not necessarily spending money because you want someone in for the next four or five months.”

The Bluebirds face a challenging FA Trophy trip to Nuneaton Town on Saturday as the club look to recapture past glories in the competition.
