Wright Urges Darlington To Build On First Victory

Darlington boss Tommy Wright got his first win in the role after his side defeated Harrogate Town 3-1, he now wants them to build on it.

An impressive win for the side sees them now 17th in the Vanarama National League North table, writes Tom Feaheny.

"It was the perfect Christmas present for me, we wanted to give the fans that one, they've stood by us, we hope that is the catalyst for us now," Wright told the club's website.

"To go into the bottom three before the game, gave us a focus, we worked hard for that result.

"When the fans are really lifting us, they make you feel eight foot tall, the second goal galvanised the lads.

"I remember these fans when I played for the club, we need to remember that feeling and ensure we give the fans more reason to make that starting with the next game, we've beaten them already so we know we can get something against Harrogate Town again."
