We Can Close The Gap - Tranmere's Norwood

By David Richardson

Tranmere Rovers forward James Norwood is confident they can close the gap on the clubs at the top of the Vanarama National League.

Improving Rovers have lost just once in their last six National League matches and earned a draw at Peterborough United in the FA Cup last weekend.

There's still plenty of football to be played in the season and if Tranmere beat tomorrow's opponents Dagenham & Redbridge, in sixth, they'd be just one point behind them.

“We showed last week that we can compete with a League One team, and we can take confidence from that," he said.

"But it’s a completely different test this weekend and back to the league so it’s about getting the three points.

“It’s so tight and there are so many teams who are so close from top to bottom, so we know the league table is going to chopping and changing on a weekly basis.

“Everybody has to play each other, we still have to play those teams at the top and we’ll try and take points off them which will close the gap.”
