Limbrick Rues Late Rendell Sucker Punch As Cards Suffer

By Sam Elliott

Woking manager Anthony Limbrick saw enough in their derby defeat to Aldershot to suggest results can turn.

The Cards now haven’t won since beating Ebbsfleet United on November 21 and that form has left them lagging behind the top seven.

To make matters worse, the 2-1 loss on New Year’s Day was inflicted by former striker Scott Rendell. Watch Match Highlights Here.

Limbrick understands the supporter’s frustration after an encouraging first four months of the campaign.

Talking to the National League’s Oli Osborn, the Australian knows his players are giving it everything they have got and back-to-back bitter defeats to their big rivals will be put right.

“We’re bitterly disappointed,” Limbrick said.”I thought we were a lot better in the second half, we really pushed them.

“We got it back 1-1 and we felt there was another goal and unfortunately it didn’t come for us.

“We felt that we gave it everything but we didn’t come out on top and that’s frustrating for everyone involved.

“We need to make sure we are getting the details right throughout the game and get that next win as soon as possible.”

Back to back home games give Woking the chance to do just that - it’s Maidenhead United on Saturday followed by a visit from Tranmere Rovers.
