Keeper Evans Joins Wigan Team-Mate On Loan At Sutton

Young goalkeeper Owen Evans has moved to Sutton United on an initial month`s loan from SkyBet League One leaders Wigan Athletic.

The Wales under-19 international has progressed through Wigan`s academy

The Newport-born keeper was included in a few matchday squads during 2016/17.

Originally signed from Hereford United following the demise of their academy, Evans has trained with the first-team goalkeepers at Latics during his time at the club, whilst also spending time on loan at Witton Albion, Rhyl and North Ferriby United.

He was offered professional terms ahead of this season.

Evans is likely to be involved when Sutton travel to Gateshead on Saturday and follows Wigan team-mate Terell Thomas to the Gander Green Lane outfit.
