Carroll: We Must Build On Last Victory

FC Halifax Town assistant Mark Carroll says victory at Aldershot Town and a win against Macclesfield Town would help the team going into the Christmas league fixtures.

Carroll and manager Billy Heath won the FA Trophy with North Ferriby United and the Shaymen won the competition two seasons ago, writes Tom Feaheny.

They didn't play this match at the weekend due to the weather but will now face the top of the table National League side tonight.

"A win last weekend was very important for the side, we know the quality in the squad is there, it is now all about getting a settled side," Carroll said.

"The club and myself and Billy know a lot about the competition and what it can do for a side, it helps build momentum and there is a prize of winning at Wembley as well."

Speaking to the Halifax Courier, Carroll said their win last weekend against Aldershot Town, was very important for the performance they put in.

"From one to 11 defensively we kept our shape really well against a really good Aldershot team.

“It hurts when you don’t win matches. We try to get up for training and everything else but you can’t beat winning - that’s what we’re all in it for."
