Bower: Ten Man Avenue Did Me Proud

Bradford Park Avenue boss Mark Bower was delighted as his side moved into the play-off places with a win over North Ferriby United.

Avenue won this game due to Oli Johnson's goal, despite Danny Boshell being sent off and Steve Drench making a fine save in added time, Bradford are now seventh in the National League North, writes Tom Feaheny.

"People will have looked at today's fixture and expected us to win. It's never that simple. They have experience and picked up a good result last week," Bower said to the club's website.

"It's very pleasing that we got the three points, especially considering we played the last twenty minutes with ten men."

"We didn't play brilliantly, but you've only got to look at Salford, who are up at the top. They've been grinding out results and we did the same. Winning without playing particularly well is what good teams do."

They next host Brackley Town on Saturday against another side in the top seven places.
