Allen Looks To End Goal Drought By Signing Denton

Chesterfield have signed Alfreton Town striker Tom Denton, the club have announced.

The forward only joined the Reds this summer from FC Halifax Town but he has been in fantastic form for Billy Heath’s side in the National League North.

That has convinced Martin Allen to do a deal with his side winless in seven, and going five matches without scoring.

Allen wrote on the club’s website: “This morning we signed Tom Denton for an undisclosed fee on an 18-month contract from Alfreton Town.

“He is a player we've been after for a while and he gives us another option to score goals and make goals.

“He's come from a lower level so he has a hunger to prove himself and do better.”
