Whites Bright Young Stars Shine As They Are U19 Winners!

Dover Athletic did just enough to be crowned Champion of Champions on a sweltering afternoon in Oxford.

The young Whites beat Eastleigh 1-0 in Alliance season finale.

They won it late on and the club’s U19 players celebrated on the pitch to toast their achievement.

The winning goal came 12 minutes from time as patience paid off for the Kent club at Court Place Farm.

Marshall Wratten’s free-kick deep to the far post was headed home strongly by Josh Spencer who climbed highest to grab a crucial goal.

In the closing stages both teams went all out but the outstanding action saw another top save by Eastleigh goalkeeper Josh Cotyon.

He kept out Ryan Kingsford with an impressive point blank stop.

It was a nervy final five minutes of time added on for both sets of travelling support in a match well handled by official Lisa Benn.

But it was Dover who held firm and lifted the new trophy and the young stars will certainly enjoy their long trip home.
