What's In Store In The National League South On Saturday?

By Sam Elliott

When just five points separate the top five, every single Saturday counts.

The National League South could be about to tighten up even more.

The game on the day is at Plainmoor where Billericay Town have already won this season.

Their 4-0 first day victory against Truro City on the first day of the season will mean little when they face Torquay United who are undefeated since Gary Johnson took charge.

The leaders will know a Gulls win will have them back in the race - but what about the other challengers?

Second place Welling United slipped up on Tuesday at St Albans and now they face a visit from sixth place Wealdstone.

Woking may have been iffy of late but Alan Dowson’s team are just three points off top spot. A trip to Chippenham will answer a number of questions.

Bath City will fancy their chances of closing the gap and are favourites to beat Hemel Hempstead at Twerton Park.

There are two huge game down the bottom as Truro City travel to East Thurrock having taken four points against two side vying for promotion.

Weston-super-Mare so nearly beat Torquay but are still without a first victory. That really needs to be put right against Hungerford Town.

St Albans are getting themselves in the promotion mix but won’t have things their own way at Dulwich Hamlet.

Concord Rangers are on the climb and Sammy Moore knows his team are likely to be back in the play-off places if they win this weekend.

But they take on a Slough Town side who also have top seven ambitions.

Chelmsford City need to play better at home - their away form is one of the best of anyone in the division.

Eastbourne Borough visit as the Clarets look to get only their second victory at Melbourne.

Dartford “must get better” their joint manager Jamie Coyle says - they take on Chris Todd’s Gloucester City.
