Sinnott Says Trinity Have Plenty To Build Upon Ahead Of Tomorrow's Game

Gainsborough Trinity boss Lee Sinnott says his side have what it takes to stay in the Vanarama National League North.

Trinity like so many others saw their game called off this weekend but could be in action as early as tomorrow for a trip to Curzon Ashton, writes Tom Feaheny.

This game is subject to a 10am pitch inspection tomorrow.

With the gap currently six points between themselves and safety, it is crucial they pick up valuable points as soon as possible,

He believes he has something to build on after his first game in charge ended in a narrow defeat.

“I thought the players’ application was first class during my opening game and that is encouraging,” Sinnott told Lincolnshire Live.

“We played a system against Chorley to make us more compact and I thought that was the case. They showed they could do that."

Sinnott believes fine margins are the reason why Trinity find themselves second bottom.

“In possession, we sometimes made the wrong decision but that will improve. That’s partly down to confidence.

“It’s just a bit frustrating that the one time we switched off, we got punished for it. That’s the way it goes when you’re at the wrong end of the table."
