Seagulls Return For Mawford

Weston-super-Mare have announced that the paperwork has been completed to bring Jake Mawford back to the Woodspring Stadium.

Since leaving Weston, Mawford has turned out for both Paulton Rovers and, more recently, Evo-Stik League South Premier side Dorchester Town.

After impressing in pre-season training and the initial two fixtures, Mawford has now committed to play for the Seagulls.

Assistant coach Rob Boyd commented: “It’s good to have Jake involved again at the club for this season, he has proved in the past that he is an exciting and capable player at this level.”

Mawford added: “I am delighted to be back. I have been with the club on and off since I was 16 which I regret but I hope I can stay here for the foreseeable future. I love the club as well as the people who are involved with it. I love playing for my home town, and I am looking forward to playing under Marc. He wants to play football, as I do. I can’t wait for the first game of the season”.
