Sad Loss......

Vic Keeble spent a number of years with Chelmsford in administrative roles, first joining the club in the late 1970’s.

Originally with Colchester United, for whom he played against City in the 1940’s, Keeble went on to play for Newcastle United and West Ham United before having to retire through injury aged just 30 – he totalled 294 games and scored an amazing 179 goals.

Upon his retirement from playing he took up an administrative role with Colchester before joining City to take over the running of the club’s fundraising efforts.

He later became the club’s general manager, whilst also undertaking the role of secretary during his time at New Writtle Street.

Non-League football join Chelmsford in sending their condolences to Vic Keeble’s family at this sad time.
