Penney: Feelgood Factor With Minstermen After Point

York City's sporting director Dave Penney was quick to credit both the Minstermen and Spennymoor Town after they drew 2-2.

A back and fourth game saw both sides remain in the play-off places and extended their league unbeaten run to seven matches each, writes Tom Feaheny.

"It was a good game of football featuring two teams who were trying to win the game," Penney told BBC Radio York.

"We were a bit disappointed we have taken the lead twice and not won it, but it was a match that showed why we are both in a good place.

"Where we are right now shows the that momentum we are getting, in terms of picking points up and moving up the league."

In terms of being fourth in the Vanarama National League North table, Penney praised the turnout of the crowd and the momentum they have.

"People see it, and it a feelgood factor around the city, and people want to be associated with success and perhaps they feel something is building.

"It's brilliant when we get 3,000 and hopefully that can continue, we can keep picking points up, and more and more people start coming."
