Oxlade-Chamberlain Returns To City

Oxford City manager Mark Jones was delighted with the draw for the Second Round of the Emirates FA Cup which paired them with SkyBet League Two high-flyers Notts County at Meadow Lane.

Jones said: "I’m delighted with the draw, it’s obviously a fantastic achievement from the players and the staff to get into the second round of the FA Cup. When we hear comments like `best day in the club’s history` and things like that, it makes us really proud and the supporters really happy!

“The draw on Monday night could have been a lot worse for us, Notts County is a really good place for us to go and play, so we’ll look forward to that in a couple of weeks` time, but we must now focus on the league.

“We’ve got three big league games and a Buildbase FA Trophy game before we can focus on the FA Cup again, so we want to try and keep up the momentum from Saturday and the confidence to put in some really good league performances and some important wins."

Jones also provided some squad updates, including some player movements and some updates on injuries.

"Miles Welch-Hayes has returned to Bath City. We would have love to have kept him but they wanted him back, so there is not a lot we can do about that. We thank him for his efforts for us in the last month. We have brought Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain back in from Portsmouth on loan until January. He did quite well for us when he was here before. He showed a lot of potential and was very good athletically. He can run with the ball and has got a lot of pace and power.

“Reece Fleet is coming on along well with his knee. He probably won’t be quite ready for Saturday, but we are hoping he will be fit for the Wealdstone game. Christian Navarro is also looking better, and he should hopefully be available for Saturday".
