No Prior Warning! Jason Is Back With A Bang For Havant

Havant manager Lee Bradbury saluted his side going second in the table - and striker Jason Prior’s return to goalscoring form.

The forward found the net for the first time since November as the Hawks overtook Hampton in the National League South by winning 2-0 at home to Hungerford.

It was a sturdy not stylish performance from the title chasers but that didn’t worry their manager.

He was delighted for Prior who ended his three month wait for a goal by helping the Hawks on their way.

Bradbury told the Portsmouth News: “Jason is more than goals. He contributes so much else.

“He scored a good couple of goals and could easily have had a hat-trick. He is a focal point for us as a team and a trigger for us to press high up the pitch.

“It enables us to get at defenders and he does that very well.

“Ultimately as a centre-forward you get judged on goals, though. That is 15 in the league now and he is ticking along nicely.”

Havant next take their title challenge to Hemel Hempstead on Saturday, one of a number of sides who will feel they can still win the league.
