New keeper can continue coaching ladies

Vanarama National League FC Halifax Town have given new keeper Jordan Porter the green light to carry on coaching the women's team at Brighouse Town.

The 21-year-old keeper impressed for the Shaymen in pre-season trials with one of his best performances coming during a game against his former club Brighouse Town.

Porter kicked off playing career at the age of six at the Northern Premier League outfit before joining Huddersfield Town on a scholarship programme aged 16 and later Barnsley in a bid for an apprenticeship.

Unfortunately, he was released after just six months and joined the army but left after a year to became an apprentice with Brighouse-based Company Environtec.

Porter was a substitute for last Saturday's opening Vanarama National League fixture at Boreham Wood which Halifax lost 3-1, and again in Tuesday’s 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Chester.
